Everything started during the 1920s with a small shoe shop in the middle of Italy. Some years after the start of the shop the eldest son and successor, Dorino Della Valle, designed the luxury moccasin “Gommino” with 133 rubber knobs and marketed this shoe very successfully. The small family shop grew up in the 1970s to become an enterprise with boutiques from New York to Tokyo and from London to Dubai. Also today, the rubber knobs on the soles are the unmistakable trademark of TOD’S. Today, the enterprise belongs to the most important producers of luxury shoes and leather ware worldwide. TOD’S was increasing steadily and the TOD’S group with the label Hogan, representing the sporty line, as well as the label Fay, for the field of clothing, was founded. Despite or perhaps because of the size of the group, still today, as have been at the very beginning, they attach great importance on best processing and highest quality of all articles, which are solely made in Italy. Every single item is handmade and passes several quality controls during its production. The TOD’S group is still expanding.
