Nylor frame
The assortment of modern spectacles frames is multifarious today and thus one can select among full frame spectacles, part rims, half rim glasses or rimless frames. How the lenses are inserted depend on the kind of spectacles frame and so, with full frame glasses the lenses are completely held by the frame and with rimless frames one does without any kind of frame.
With spectacle frames which have partial rims, i.e. half rim glasses the lens is held by a so-called Nylor filament. With this construction a thin groove is milled at the edge of the lens, in which the solid Nylor filament is laid. A Nylor filament is able to permit a draw weight up to 2, kg and is already used since the 1950s for strengthening in partly rimless glasses. Most times the Nylor filament is to be found in the lower part of a Nylor frame, but can, as it is the case with reading glasses also be part of the upper region of the Nylor frame.
Half rim glasses are very popular, as Nylor frames are light-weighted and decent and one gets the impression of partly rimless glasses.
