Cooper Companies Inc. consists of the product areas: Cooper Surgical, specialized on medical products, and Cooper Vision, established market leader in the field of contact lenses, having its main quarter in Pleasanton, California. Cooper Vision has made a name for itself in the field of toric contact lenses for compensating astigmatism. Meanwhile, one can buy contact lenses and care products for contact lenses from Cooper Vision in over 60 countries on all six continents. Cooper Vision holds at present the third place in the branch of contact lenses producers, and in the field of toric contact lenses, the company is the greatest producer worldwide. In order to hold and increase its market position, Cooper Vision has more than 20 subsidiaries, just over half of them in Europe, and seven international production plants, i.a. in Madrid/Spain and Adelaide/Australia.
With the takeover of the company Ocular Sciences, Cooper Vision was also able to conquer the German market. The first silicon-hydro gel contact lens Biofinity followed within a very short time.
